My name is Al Mitchell. I was born on July 26th 1971 in the Scottish town of Paisley . I'm the youngest of 4 children. In my teenage years I got into a lot of trouble at school and with the law. I was eventually locked up in a childrens home. I ended up attending a residential school during the day (as no other school would have me). It was in Paisley and called Kibble. It was there that I started to think about my life. I spent a year there from 15 to 16 and really feel it made a big difference to my attitude to life. When I was 16 I got into music and it changed my life. I bought a drumkit and started a band, It was the best thing I ever did. My musical influences when I was young were bands like The Jam, The Who, The Small Faces and The Kinks. I was really into 60s music and the mod culture. I even had a Lambretta scooter. As I got older I got into bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I became obsessed with the guitar and writing songs. I feel honored to have been involved with some fantastic bands over the years. I've had amazing experiences I could only have dreamed of. I've met a lot of famous musicians. I met the drummer from Glasgow living legends Travis when I was busking last year and he remembered a band I used to be in. That was cool. I'm currently involved with 3 bands, run open mic nights, try to do my own music, and record other people. I write, sing, play guitar, Keyboards, Bass and Drums. I engineer and Produce in my home studio. I've produced music that has been played on MTV & BBC TV as well as radio stations all over the world with my previous band moon. I don't make a living from music..but I love it. In a bizarre twist of fate I'm now back working at Kibble school. I'm a support worker and music tutor, working with boys I feel I understand and can help. Life is strange.
